This was the second year that Write Links held its  Short Story Competition judged by children’s literature advocate and former CBCA QLD judge, Mia Macrossan.

This competition is specifically for children’s writers and Write Links members and growing each year. This year the competition was sponsored by Book Links (QLD) Inc. and Jocelyn Hawes.

Our fabulous organiser and presenter Melanie Hill revealed the winners at the Story Arts Festival Ipswich last Sunday.

Runner Up is …

Jacqui Halpin with her story

FINDING FRIENDS

Jacqui writes children’s stories and has previously had success at the CYA writing competition. Jacqui has a blog on her father’s amazing story Black Jack Turner which one day I hope to see in print.

Jacqui has been a Write Links member from day one and leads the Junior Fiction critique group.
